Newcastle International Airport (NCL) is well served by buses, trains and taxis, with direct connections with the city centre provided by the efficient Metro and local buses.
Buses and trains also run to cities nationwide from Newcastle upon Tyne and taxis are readily available outside the terminal building for fast transport into the city and its hotels.
Buses
Buses run regularly from Newcastle International Airport (NCL) to the city centre, the Metro Centre in Gateshead and to Blyth, with connections operating every 20 minutes during peak periods. National Express coaches run direct from the airport to Newcastle and destinations all over the UK.
Trains
Although there is no train station at Newcastle International Airport, there is a Metro line station, giving passengers the option of travelling into the city by rail. Services take about 30 minutes to reach the city centre and connections are frequent. You can reach virtually any city in the country by rail from Newcastle Central Station, including London and Edinburgh.
